Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef is an exclusive safari camp hidden in the white sand dunes on a deserted stretch of beach in the Cape Range National Park, where the magnificent corals of Ningaloo Reef are just metres offshore. The accommodation and hosting style exudes ‘Wild Bush Luxury’ and guides deliver an extraordinary insight to one of Australia’s best kept natural secrets – Ningaloo Reef. The camp’s ecological principles also ensure that your stay generates a minimal environmental footprint.
Each of the nine spacious Wilderness Tents, with views over the Ningaloo Reef, is raised on a timber platform allowing the coastal breezes to naturally cool the rooms. The en-suite bathroom at the rear of the tent has a rustic and ecological simplicity to fit the surrounding environment – a natureloo, a solar heated, hand pumped shower, native herb soaps and ecologically sound shampoos. Each tent has one king or two single beds; extra adult or child sleeps in swag bedding.
The in-house chef provides contemporary Australian cuisine with hints of bush food and native produce. Dinner is hosted against a back-drop of sunsets over the Indian Ocean and in the cool of the evening kangaroos and wallaroos appear from the bush for their evening graze. A bar and open lounge area with a small reference library provides a great spot to relax. Guests may help themselves to the self-service bar at any time.
Please note Sal Salis is closed each year from December until mid March.
